Your display name is your public identity on Duelbits, it appears on leaderboards, in chat, and anywhere your profile is visible to other players. You can change it at any time from your account settings. This guide covers how to do it and what to know.
✏️ How to Change Your Display Name
Click your profile icon in the top-right corner.
Go to Settings.
Under Display Name, delete your current name and type your new one.
Click Save changes.
The change takes effect instantly. Your new display name will appear across the entire platform immediately, leaderboards, chat, bet history, and anywhere else your profile is visible.
📏 Display Name Requirements
Your display name must follow these rules:
Between 3 and 24 characters
No offensive, abusive, or inappropriate language: Duelbits reserves the right to reset display names that violate community standards or the Terms of Service
Choose a name you are comfortable with being publicly visible to other players on the platform.
🆔 Display Name vs User ID
These are two different things:
Display Name is your public username, what other players see. You can change it whenever you want from Profile → Settings.
User ID is your permanent, unique account identifier, a long alphanumeric string (e.g., da8adcc4-98db-474b-ad12-55f8a08c6295) that never changes, regardless of how many times you update your display name. Your User ID is found in Profile → Settings under "User Information" in the right-hand panel.
When contacting Duelbits support, always provide your User ID rather than your display name. The User ID is unique and permanent, so the support team can locate your account instantly, even if you have recently changed your display name.
🔄 What Updates When You Change Your Name
When you change your display name, it updates everywhere across the platform immediately:
Leaderboards
Chat
Bet history visible to other players
Any other public-facing area where your profile appears
Your User ID, account history, transactions, and referral tracking are not affected, these are tied to your permanent User ID, not your display name.
🔒 Profile Privacy
If you prefer to keep your activity private regardless of your display name, you can enable Toggle Profile Privacy in Profile → Settings. When enabled, your stats and bet history will display as "Hidden" to other users. This works independently of your display name, you can have a visible name with hidden stats, or vice versa.

How long does a display name change take?
It is instant. Your new name appears across the entire platform immediately after clicking Save changes.
Is my display name unique?
Your display name is what other players see, but your User ID is the unique permanent identifier for your account. If you need to prove account ownership or contact support, use your User ID.
Can other players see my old display name?
No. Once you change your display name, the old one is replaced everywhere. Other players will only see your current name.
Can Duelbits reset my display name?
Yes. If your display name contains offensive, abusive, or inappropriate content, Duelbits reserves the right to reset it without notice.
I changed my display name but support cannot find my account. What do I do?
Provide your User ID instead of your display name. The User ID never changes and is the most reliable way for the support team to locate your account. Find it in Profile → Settings → User Information.
